Creative Arts Therapy for Children & Teens
Growing up comes with big feelings, rapid changes, and challenges that can be hard to put into words. For many children and teens, talking about their experiences isn’t always easy — especially when they're overwhelmed, unsure, or still developing the language to express what’s going on inside.
Creative arts therapy offers a gentle, non-verbal way to support emotional expression, self-awareness and regulation. Through drawing, building, movement or creative play, young people can explore their inner world in a space that feels safe, supportive, and attuned to their needs.
This work can be particularly helpful for young people who are:
Living with anxiety or depression
Struggling with social connection or friendships
Experiencing school refusal or learning-related distress
Exploring body image, self-esteem or identity
Navigating gender identity or sexuality
Living with neurodivergence or sensory processing differences
Experiencing grief, trauma, or major life transitions
Living with acute or chronic physical/mental health diagnoses
Having difficulty with executive functioning or emotional regulation
Needing support with self-expression or communication
Creative arts therapy may support your child or teen on its own, or alongside other health and therapeutic supports — particularly when traditional talk-based approaches haven’t quite reached them.
What to Expect
Sessions are paced gently and guided by curiosity, not performance.
We follow your child’s lead, using creative materials to help them express, regulate, and explore what’s coming up — with you, the parent or carer, also supported along the way.
Personalised, Private Support for Children & Teens
Every child and teen experiences the world in their own unique way — and their support should reflect that. In one-on-one sessions, we tailor the therapeutic process to meet your child exactly where they are, building safety and trust through creativity, play, and gentle presence.
Whether your child is feeling overwhelmed, withdrawn, or simply can’t find the words, individual art therapy offers a calm and responsive space where their inner world can be explored at their own pace — with therapeutic support that honours their developmental stage, strengths, and needs.
Groups for Children & Teens
Creative arts therapy groups offer young people the chance to feel less alone in what they’re experiencing — while building emotional awareness, confidence, and connection through shared creative expression.
Each group is thoughtfully designed around a specific theme and age group, offering a safe space to explore feelings, social dynamics, and identity — all through making, moving, and creating alongside peers. Young people are invited to participate in ways that feel comfortable for them, with no pressure to share verbally.
Current group themes and outcomes:
