What is Creative Arts Therapy?
Creative arts therapy is a unique form of psychotherapy, drawing on current teachings in the areas of neuroscience, health and the arts.
At the heart of this therapy, curiosity, imagination and play support opportunities to deepen your understanding and experience of yourself, your relationships and the broader world in which you live.
At times our own experiencing can be difficult to articulate or understand through verbal language. The design and development of our nervous systems can often present challenges in accessing elements of our experiencing that are causing disharmony in our lives.
By engaging with your innate impulse to create, cognitive (perceptual) and bodily (sensory) feedback within yourself can create opportunities to explore personal content in a new and different way.
Through this person centred approach, creative arts therapy allows for understanding, meaning making and personal growth outside of the constraints of diagnoses and labels. Utilising images, textures, movements and sounds to explore what is challenging in our lives allows for self understanding and experiencing in a way that feels authentic and personal, no matter your background or where you are in life.
Ultimately, creative arts therapy is a space where we can come to understand ourselves and others in ways that support our whole selves.

What Can I Expect?
In a creative arts therapy session, you might draw, paint, build, move, or simply sit with the materials. You don’t need to be “artistic” — it’s about process, not product.
You’ll be supported to:
• Explore and express what’s hard to say in words
• Regulate your nervous system and feel more grounded
• Understand your emotions, patterns, and personal story
• Work through life challenges, or content which requires supporting in your life
• Access new insights about yourself and your relationships
• Feel more present, resourced, and connected
Sessions are led by Sofie, a Master’s qualified Creative Arts Therapist and tailored to your needs — whether you're coming as an individual, joining a group, or seeking support for your team or organisation.
